Chad Heiny is the Assistant Director of Bands and Percussion Specialist at both Kiski Area High School and Kiski Area Intermediate School in Vandergrift, PA. His teaching responsibilities include directing the Kiski Area High School Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble and Cavalier Percussion Group, while co-teaching the Jazz Ensemble "B", Seventh Grade Band and Eighth Grade Band. He has been both Assistant Director and Percussion Arranger of the acclaimed Kiski Area High School Marching Band since 2006. In addition to his duties at Kiski, Chad is currently a Percussion Judge for Winter Guard International, a Front Ensemble Supervisor for The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps, the Creative Consultant for the Pittsburgh Steeline, and a Private Music Teacher in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.
As an avid, eager, and versatile composer, Chad has written music for an eclectic collection of ensembles and performers across the country. Chad earned a Master’s Degree in Music Performance from Louisiana State University and Bachelor’s Degrees in both Music Education and Music Performance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Percussive Arts Society and proud endorser of Majestic Percussion, Innovative Percussion, Meinl Percussion, and Remo Drumheads. Chad resides just outside of Pittsburgh, PA with his wife Nichole, son Christopher and dog Cailey.
